Abstract: It was 1959 when Bruna, at that time only 10 years old, the eldest daughter of a family of humble origins, was admitted to a charity with a diagnosis of "severe oligophrenia." Bruna spent 30 years at the Institute. At the age of 55 a Herpes zoster appeared, which tended to become chronic and evolved in algoneurodistrofia of the left lower limb. Abstract: In March 2004, Mario was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. From the moment the diagnosis was announced, Mario and his wife took initiative using the facilities of the National Law abatement barrier 13/89, thus installing a platform lift, and changing and partially renovating their apartment .
