Volunteers, mostly family members of disabled or disabled people themselves, formed the Yabboq Social Cooperative in 1981, the international year of the handicapped, to offer physical rehabilitation services and opportunities for socialization and possible professionalization to people with disabilities of all kinds, with particular attention to the "serious".
