Abstract:
The lecture suggests methodologies and tools for the education of persons with disabilities to autonomy, intended as the ability to take control over their own lives and their own choices, to enter into relationships with others, and to become protagonists in society. The path that leads from the recognition of a need for the implementation of its solution is discussed, highlighting the need to help the users develop assistive-technology-related knowledge and basic skills by means of appropriate educational programs. In this regard the European study EUSTAT (Empowering Users Through Assistive Technology) developed a set of educational materials guidelines for building inclusion culture in the community.
