Abstract:
In March 2004, Mario was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. From the moment the diagnosis was announced, Mario and his wife took initiative using the facilities of the National Law abatement barrier 13/89, thus installing a platform lift, and changing and partially renovating their apartment . Mario used both aids provided by the National Health System and creative and smart devices. Thanks to these solutions, Mario succeeded in fulfilling his desire of living comfortably at home and in the neighbourhood, until his death, occurred in July 2006.
