Abstract:
Sonia is a woman aged 37 with severe disability of the right arm due to carpal tunnel disease and De Quervain's syndrome contracted during the performance of her job. With the progression of the disease and despite surgery, Sonia lost the ability to perform her function at work. Sonia was then moved to a different position within the department: this solution, also thanks to a support, allowed her to continue working for the same company without worsening her condition. However, reorganizing the workplace is necessary, also because now a new worker is exposed to the same risk. This short presentation highlights potential risks arising from the performance of this particular work and presents a suitable design solution for safety at work.
