Abstract:
Vito is a man aged 39 with lumbar hernia presumably developed during the performance of his work as an auxiliary hospital operator. At present he deals with the manual handling of patients, in particular the transport of patients from the wards to the operating room and vice versa, and the handling of technical material. In this short presentation inadequacies and potential risks arising from the performance of this particular work are highlighted, as well as the suitable design solution making the workplace more secure and protected, also considering that the special case of Vito could be useful also for colleagues exposed to same risk.
