Abstract:
Study funded by the Ministry of Health - Ricerca Corrente IRCCS. Longitudinal monocentric observational pilot study aimed at testing a management model for prosthetic interventions in the field of communication, IT accessibility and environmental control, with a view to continuity of care, through a path that goes from the identification of the need to the measurement of the outcome in the real environment of the user. The research aims in particular to: 1) Improve the prosthetic assessment protocol developed in the previous OMAT study which includes the assessment, verification/implementation and follow-up phase in the areas of communication, IT accessibility and environmental control AT (Assistive Technology). 2) gather evidence on the effectiveness of the Assistive Solutions (AS) provided, providing useful indicators for assessing prescriptive appropriateness. This protocol will be administered on a case study of 50 users recruited by the UOS DAT of the IRCCS in Milan "S.M.Nascente". The results of the research will have immediate clinical repercussions: the data emerging from the follow-up will offer indicators of the effectiveness "in the field" of the prescribed or recommended ASs, the quality of the service and any critical issues that required reviews of the intervention; through the experimentation the operators will acquire full mastery of the protocols used for the "AT path"; these will then be disclosed and will be transferable to any SIVA Service or Department of the Foundation that deals with AT, as well as to other Institutions (Rehabilitation Services of ASL and Hospital Companies, Territorial Care Services); in the application of the protocol operators will have the support of a software developed ad hoc.
