Abstract:
The SALSA project aims to improve the lives of fragile people and caregivers in Milan through a welfare process that uses innovative market technological solutions, training assistants and offering them a post-installation support. It will involve 125 adults with mental, social or motor disabilities in a co-planning and adoption of customized sensors/ home automation kits, aiming to increase independence and housing security. At the same time, 5 additional users of the Don Gnocchi Foundation (FDG) DAT (Home Automation, Aids, Occupational Therapy) Unit with mobility disabilities will participate in the testing of advanced technological solutions under the guidance of Informatics Without Borders (ISF). Innovative solutions, validated during this testing phase, will be implemented in targeted pilot installations. A customized post-installation service will be offered to 40 operators of Cascina Library (CB), 10 operators of FDG and 125 beneficiaries to ensure the continuous adoption of technologies.
