Abstract: It was 1959 when Bruna, at that time only 10 years old, the eldest daughter of a family of humble origins, was admitted to a charity with a diagnosis of "severe oligophrenia." The hardest part of this work was the family’s acceptation of an unexpected situation, leading to a sudden new planning of life in general. Thanks to a close collaboration with the family and especially a strong motivation by Francesco, the solutions adopted granted a better quality of life for him. The main objectives of this project were the provision of aids and then the return home of Francesco, more and more the protagonist of his own choices.
