The company was founded in 2002, inspired by the personal experience of Joaquín Romero, who had multiple sclerosis. Together with his brother Borja, both engineers, he founded BJ Adaptaciones with the aim of improving his independence and quality of life through technology and home automation. In 2011, BJ Adaptaciones decided to make its solutions available worldwide under the BJLive! brand. In 2022, BJ Adaptaciones became Qinera.
