	06 - Orthoses and prostheses Orthoses are externally applied devices used to modify the structural and functional characteristics of the neuromusculoskeletal systems; prostheses are externally applied devices used to replace, wholly or in part, an absent or deficient body segment. Included are, e.g. body-powered and externally powered external orthoses, prostheses, orthopaedic footwear. Excluded are endo-prostheses, which are not part of this document.
	06.03 - Spinal and cranial orthoses Orthoses that are designed to modify the structural and functional characteristics of the neuromusculoskeletal systems of the spine and skull; the device may be custom fabricated to meet the functional needs of the individual user or prefabricated to meet a particular set of functional requirements; the prefabricated devices may be adjustable to fit an individual user, or they may be ready-to-use so that adjustment is not possible or no adjustment is necessary for any user.

Included are, e.g. shells, pads, straps.
	06.03.33 - Structural components for spinal and cranial orthoses Structural components of orthoses connect the articulating and interface components and maintain the alignment of the orthosis. Included are, e.g. uprights, shells.
	06.03.36 - Finishing components for spinal and cranial orthoses Finishing components are the means of providing shape, colour and texture to orthoses. Included are, e.g. fillers, covers, sleeves.
	06.03.39 - Mandibular advancement devices Orthoses, worn in the mouth, used to permit changes in the position of the lower mandible relative to the upper jaw. Included are, e.g. mandibular advancement splints (MAS).
