Abstract:
Lecture providing on overview of assistive technologies and their role in individual programmes related to rehabilitation, autonomy and social integration. On the ground of the ICF classification of the World Health Organisation and of recent findings in scientific literature and clinical practice, this lecture helps classify the various types of assistive technology against their function and their impact on the organisation of daily life activities. It also suggests criteria for judging their appropriateness, effectiveness and utility in relation to each individual case.
